It looks like that 7.0u3 which contains the fix is delayed. ESXi on SD Cards so iam surprised that you see PSODs or are you already on 7.0/u1? but so far, not yet.Īnd, if I install the ESXi on an internal SSD on RAID1, it would cost an extra 143 GB to start with - not a big deal - but why it uses so much for?Īs a Dell and VMware partner i sold 100s of diskless Dell PowerEdge so my smaller customers and we have a hard time right now. We are testing to ensure this version 7 is stable. Now that you also confirm the updates 7.0u2 would not fix it just yet, I might consider to down-grade to 6.7!!!īy the way, this is not the productions server just yet. When I heard they have new updates, I hope it would address this issue. while I am frustrated and going back-and-forth with Dell tech support, they also advise me to down-grade to version 6.7 and wait for VMware to issue a fix to SD and USB media. Regarding to the version 7.0.2: I have installed this version on Dell dual-SD module (and boot the host from SD card), and as far as I can tell, it experiences the purple screen and since the time-out is set to "0" second, the server reboots itself one after a day or two. Thank you for your detailed instruction to updates.
